Fade to black: styling distressed black skinnies with ankle boots and a shaggy cardigan

Believe it or not - despite being a major fan of adding some "rockstar" flavour to pretty much all my outfit combos, I didn't have even a single pair of de rigueur black skinnies hanging in my closet!!

Until last week, that is...when I finally remedied the sad situation with these faded-and-distressed-just-enough denims that I snagged at H&M.  Did I happen to mention that I've been on a bit of a jeans-buying binge recently?!  And with their ever-changing selection, H&M has become my enabler in a serious way!! 😜

Something else I didn't own until now (or at least not in a very long time!) is gold-toned jewelry.  I've been "all silver all the way" for at least the past twenty years or so; you may have noticed that even my engagement ring and wedding band are white instead of yellow gold.  But I think these statement-making Lucky Brand earrings might be the start of a whole new accessories game for me!!

Have you taken the plunge with a purchase of a different colour - literally or figuratively! - lately, dear readers??  Looking forward to hearing about it!! 😊

  1. Yay for skinnies, especially black ones! I hope you love them as much as I do. I am on my 4th pair.

Also, yay for finding gold jewelry you love. I wear gold and silver always. I am so glad that it's fine nowadays to wear them mixed. Those earrings are awesome.
