Market day: camouflage pants, chambray shirt, lace-up sandals, and a bowler hat

Here's the thing about a "stay-cation" versus an actual getaway - everyday life has a sneaky way of intruding on all the plans you made to focus on relaxing and just having fun.

Please don't get me wrong.  Robin and I really enjoyed our week off together; we slept in, visited with friends, and did lots and lots of cruising around in our convertible...often without any actual destination in mind when we first hopped in the car.  But our intention to spend all day, every day exploring a different part of our beautiful city got somewhat side-tracked by chores and appointments.  Stuff that's a non-issue when you're (far) away from home, in other words.

But we made the most of it... and on this particular afternoon we ended up spending several hours exploring Granville Island and its many artisan workshops, galleries, and gift boutiques, as well as the amazing variety offered by the massive public market.

Of course a whole week off also meant I had plenty of opportunity to show off a few of those recent wardrobe acquisitions I mentioned last week!!  I finally succumbed to a pair of military-inspired camouflage pants that I'd been thinking about for ages...and a flat top fedora, too.  And these sandals??  I'm sure my fellow fashionistas will agree that it would have been lunacy to leave them behind, considering they were on sale for a mere $50!!  😉

  1. That hat! I love that hat. I also can't blame you for wanting those shoes. I admire you for being able to walk around in them. I can only wear heels when I know I'll be sitting for a while. I walk two blocks in heels and I'm done. Rather unfortunate for someone as short as I am.
