Neon dream: Black patterned shirt, black skinnies, black and maroon suit jacket, and fuchsia hair

I gotta say - here's nothing quite like neon-pink hair to chase away the gloomies of a rainy autumn day, dear readers!! 😁

I've been doing (or more accurately, my hairstylist has been doing!) variations on the pink theme for a while now...but this is without a doubt the nerviest shade we've chosen yet.  And I do mean "nervy," because a colour like this definitely provokes some strong reactions!!

Compliments are always lovely, of course...but it's quite interesting how many people feel it's perfectly okay to be insulting.  "Oh, is it Halloween already?" is a remark I've heard numerous times; I really couldn't care less because #iwillwearwhatilike , and that absolutely includes my choice of hair colour!!  But let's be honest - there's a lot of so-called "natural" dye jobs out there that are way more scary!!

Plus I love, love, LOVE how my new fuchsia 'do pops against this black-on-black ensemble of mine.  The colour is super pretty in combination with olive and maroon, too - outfits that I hope you'll be back to oogle over the coming weeks!!  For now, though, I hope you'll take a moment to share whether you've ever considered a "crazy" colour choice for your hair before...?!

  1. I think your hair color is gorgeous! Just ignore the neg comments. People ask me stuff like that all the time when I wear head to toe vintage outfits. I don't even know why some people feel so inclined to be negative just because they see something that doesn't look mainstream. I think it's refreshing to see something different. To me it speaks of a creative mind, which is a good thing!

BTW, love the outfit, especially the pinstriped jacket and those killer studded lace up heels. I'm drooling!

    1. I think some people are just envious that we have the confidence to have fun with our personal style, dear Theresa!! I think most of us didn't want to be "different" back when we were kids in school (I know I didn't!) but I outgrew that ages ago...and now I really enjoy experimenting and trying something new!! Thank you so much for your visit!! :D

  3. I love all the pieces in that outfit. You have worn that jacket before and I always loved it. Those jeans are so cool too.

Love the haircolor. It's one of my favorite colors. As the grays start creeping into my raven ringlets, I am often at a loss for if and how I should cover them. At times I think I should keep it natural and other times I think if my hair color is going to be fake, it should be FAKE. I don't think I'd go all over fushcia though. Even though it looks cool, the roots would bother me once it started growing out. If I covered it, I'd probably have to cut it off to keep my hair healthy and I do love wearing my hair long. I aim to be Andie McDowell circa 1990. I'm definitely down with covering my grays with some purple or pink streaks at some point.

    1. "Highlights" in a deep purple would be so pretty in your black hair, dearest Rachel!! I know what you mean about roots - that regrowth definitely makes an all-over colour like mine pretty high-maintenance!! For now, though, it's worthwhile to me...and when I get tired of it, I'll just try something new again!! XOXO
