My husband and I went to a funeral today.
I struggled with the “appropriateness” of posting personal style photos on such a sad occasion, but I decided that – as much as we may wish it were not the case – dressing for a funeral is something we all will likely be required to do at some point in our lives.
Pieces at the more conservative end of the spectrum will always be the better choice under these circumstances (at least when it comes to colour and pattern) so I paired my black, faux-leather pencil skirt (from H&M) with this grey, ruched blouse and my tweedy, Chanel-style jacket. I kept my jewellery understated, but opted to wear these black shoes with snakeskin detail for just a tiny hit of personality.
My heart goes out to my dear friend at the loss of her mom.
