Hat trick

This leather beanie has been the “finishing touch” for several of my looks so far this season…and will surely be for several more!!

When I was growing up, I was very prone to earaches; so my mom was always insistent that I wear a hat as soon as the weather turned even the littlest bit chilly. Of course, this meant I rebelled later on – until quite recently, you would never find me wearing any kind of head covering. But over the past few years, I’ve definitely come around to the charms of a great hat…and I have a growing collection to prove it!!

Apparently, we lose a large percentage of body heat from our heads; so it just makes sense that a hat would be a great way to help us stay warm. To that end, I’ve enlisted the help of some layers here, too: my thin, wool v-neck sweater; my plaid shirt; and my quilted faux-leather jacket. These maroon skinnies were originally a “coated” denim, but unfortunately – after only one wash – that finish was “finished!!” Are we not supposed to wash coated denim?!

I like this outfit. It's a bit of a dichotomy….giving off a feeling of both tough and soft at the same time.

I am not much of a hat person just because I don't really know how to make them look effortless. You do a great job with this one!

I love the contrast of edginess mixed with softness, don't you?! I'm always saying I'm such a "girly" girl – and personality-wise I definitely am! – but that doesn't mean I don't like adding some tomboy elements to my looks!! Thank you for leaving me another nice note; you have another entry in my Christmas giveaway!!

Thank you for your kind comment about my blog! Unfortunately, it doesn't mention a specific part of my look here… so it doesn't qualify for my contest. Please leave me another note so that you can have a chance to win the silver, pearl and peridot bracelet that I'm giving away!

That sounds familiar. My mother always told me to put a cap on and then I never wanted to put on a cap. Until recently – I've also rediscovered caps. Stupid thing is that the hair suffers. ๐Ÿ™‚
Your outfit is again quite to my taste – the color of the pants is wonderful and the icing on the cake are the shoes. They will fit perfectly to the plaid shirt and the cap.
And why you can not wash some coated pants, I can unfortunately not explain.

Happy Third Advent to you too, Conny!! I thought that this might be a look that you would especially like!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Fortunately, with my super-short hair, wearing a hat doesn't matter anymore…maybe that's one of the reasons that I like wearing them now!! Thank you so much, as always, for your note; you have another ballot entered in my giveaway draw!!
