It's all in the sleeves

I cannot tell you how much I am in love with this amazing sweater dress!!

It’s one of those pieces that has absolutely no hanger appeal – in fact, it has all the charm of a garbage bag when it’s not on a body! – but something made me take it into the change room when I saw it at Winners a few weeks ago. It might have been the dress’s cuddly softness…but I’m pretty sure it was actually these fabulous, fluffy, faux-mohair sleeves!!

Then when I tried it on, the shapelessness suddenly transformed into this really cool, modern silhouette; and so, of course, the dress ended up coming home with me!! Surprisingly, my husband really likes it, too – I guess the shorter length and more open neckline show the “perfect” amount of skin.  I’ve paired it with my knee boots for a little more coverage today, and this wide-brim hat from Calvin Klein for just a touch of “seventies” chicness!!

What do you think…does a sweater dress always need to be form-fitting, or can an interesting shape be fun, too?!

P.S. Don’t forget to leave me a comment for a chance to win the bracelet giveaway I featured in the “Twelve Posts of Christmas”…details are in my November 28th blog post!!

This look is timeless! The sleeves are awesome….they give it that bit of flare that makes this dress a statement piece.

Ohhh wow what a great dress – this is really a brilliant part. This sleeves … I love them. I like those dresses too. A dress does not always have a predetermined waist – usually it works with the figure of the wearer. Not always – but with your great figure this works perfectly. And with the hat and these wonderful boots, it's a wonderful combination and gives the whole thing a personal touch.
Have a nice weekend … Dear Greetings Conny

I hope you will have a great weekend too, Conny!! We are experiencing a "cold snap" here right now, so I might not be able to wear this dress again for a little while…those sleeves don't fit very well under a coat!! But I am glad I was able to show it off when I did; and I am glad that I can put another ballot in my "Twelve Posts of Christmas" box for you!! Thank you for your comment and compliments!! 🙂
