Sports story

Since the “fugly” sandal seems to be having a moment right now, I thought I would take advantage and feature my own little sorta-cute, sorta-not Converse slides…which you saw for the first time – the left one, at least! – in my “Sneaky” post!!

I’ve mentioned before that I am not what you would consider a “sporty” girl…I’m not athletic, and I’m not big into athletic-inspired fashion.  But since my leg is still giving me challenges (it swells from the blot clot if I’m upright for more than an hour or so) and since I was in the mood to style a different sort of look today, I decided I’d pair my black midi skirt and this new Diesel camo-print tank with my slip-ons instead of the heels I would usually reach for.

I think I sort of, maybe, kind of like the result!! Sure, the slides don’t have the same limb-lengthening capability that pumps or booties would…but they give my outfit a bit of downtown cool; and believe me, right about now, my confidence sure can use a little extra boost of “attitude!!”

What about you, dear readers??  Would you ever consider pairing a sportier-looking shoe or sandal with a dress or skirt??

I really love the lime green touches in this outfit, it's one of my favorite colors right now. I can't help repeating how much I love your hair, you do look like a pretty elf 🙂 Dear Monika, it would mean so much to me if you could enter the new giveaway on my blog to win a luxury handmade Italian linen blouse:

This is such a lovely look, Monika! Adore that tank & skirt pairing… so pretty + springy. And hope your leg heals up soon, sorry to hear you're still having some problems with it, but yay, no cast! That must have been a huge relief when it came off!

As for sporty shoes with skirts & dresses? I used to wear it all the time… and I notice it's having a huge come back! Might have to hop back on the train! xoxo

Not sure if I'm feeling this kind of shoe look on any regular basis, dear Veronika…I just love my heels waaay too much!! But it's a fun option when you can't – or don't want to! – do the height thing!! XO
