Mix and match

It was actually warm enough to go without a jacket today…but I couldn’t resist adding an extra layer to make this outfit feel just a bit more “dressed up!!”

I previously wore this cropped sweatshirt with a denim skirt in my “Trial and error” post; and while I thought it was an equally appealing match with my boyfriend jeans, I really wanted to mix in another pattern and texture for some style “bonus points!!”  πŸ˜‰

Honestly, this little Chanel-inspired jacket wasn’t my first pick (I had a few other choices tossed on the bed before I reached for this one!) but it ended up being exactly what I had in mind…a feminine counterpoint to these tomboyish denims!!

And how do you like the retro vibe of my new Miz Mooz t-strap shoes??  I think those hints of teal peeking out from the leather perforations are very cool and super cute…all at the same time!!

Love this little Chanel style jacket! I have a similar one and I always wear it with skinny jeans, but I must try it with boyfriend jeans now, because I think it will look even better. Thanks for the idea!

You're welcome, dearest Anett!! πŸ˜‰ I'm actually much more comfortable in this style of jacket than I am in a blazer…I guess the shorter length and open neckline keeps me from feeling too "buttoned up!!" P.S. I'll be trying it with skinnies next!! ;D

What a darling outfit! <3 I'm loving your sweatshirt with boyfriend jeans + that jacket is fabulous. I have one that's very similar and I love styling it! Also, BIG YES, to those shoes. Retro perfection! xoxo

The jacket has been part of my wardrobe for quite a while now, dear Veronika…it's a "classic" for sure, but it works really well with less-conventional pairings, too, doesn't it?! And – slowly but surely! – I'm managing to modify my shoe collection into one that's wearable even with my problematic foot!! πŸ˜‰
