I’ve done a stars and stripes combination before…but I think today might be the first time I’ve attempted to mix stripes with florals!!

This quilted sweatshirt actually has a matching skirt hanging in my wardrobe…although I’ve yet to wear the two pieces together!!  It will happen – one of these days! – but this time I wanted the challenge of putting a different bottom with my flower-print top; and the vertical black, white, and olive stripes of this pencil skirt just somehow “clicked” for me!!

Interesting…but not completely over-the-top, right?!  By keeping the colour scheme and finishing details (studded boots and bag; quilted jacket and top) harmonious, I’ve managed to create a finished look that’s somewhat unexpected…yet really pretty, too!!

Or did I miss the mark entirely??  I’m curious to hear what you think about this “mix and match” outfit, dear readers; I hope you’ll take a moment to let me know!!

I'm so glad you like it, dearest Dana!! And seriously…how could I resist pairing a flower print in my favourite colour combination with a skirt in one of my favourite patterns, right?! πŸ˜‰

I adore this outfit, even though i'm usually scared of print. You pull it off beautifully.

Hello there, Tinu…it's always a pleasure to "meet" a fellow Vancouver blogger!! I never used to be much of a "prints" girl either, but now I'm definitely a fan…especially of stripes!! Start with something in a favourite colour combination that will work with a lot of pieces already in your wardrobe…I bet you won't look back!! πŸ˜‰
