Into the fray

I honestly can’t believe that next week at this time, Christmas will be over again for another whole year…how is that possible??

Of course, with everything that my husband and I have been through recently, we haven’t been in much of a “holiday spirit;” all the pre-Christmas craziness that normally gets me excited about the season – and by that, I mean diving into the fray that is our local shopping mall! – just hasn’t happened.

But I promised you outfit photos, dear readers…and outfit photos necessitate the creation of an outfit, am I right?!  I’m not the kind of girl to sit around in my pyjamas even if I’m just staying at home…but once this look was a done deal (and little Badger fed and comfortable) it seemed a shame not to take my shaggy Free People cardigan and leopard clutch for a bit of a spin.

The mall was as busy as expected; and spending an hour in a blur of holiday tunes and coloured lights and rushing shoppers suddenly made Christmas seem real.  Of course, the real Christmas is about so much more than that…and now I just might be ready to start counting my blessings again.

This is a great sweater! I thought at first that it was a fur coat. 🙂 Very cool. As always, you mix textures and shapes so artfully and fun! I am also finding that time flies faster than I thought. Christmas next week already?! You are so right about "counting our blessings", Monika. Look at you – beauty, kindness, creative talent, loving husband and adorable Badger, and such an amazing place on the planet to live! And that's only what I can see from the few of your posts that I've read. 🙂 I am sure there is so much more in your wonderful life. Happy holidays! xxx

I think this fringy cardi is one of those "polarizing" pieces, dear Natalia; you'll either adore it…or absolutely hate it!! 😉 Of course, I fell in love at first sight…and it's nice to hear that you like it, too!! As far as blessings go?? I truly believe that we all need to experience some sadness and heartache every once in a while in order to really appreciate the good in this life; it's so easy to take things for granted!! Thank you for your lovely note…I'm so happy I've made another wonderful blogger friend!! XO

Totally FAB outfit! I LOVE that fun coat! The coolest! Yeah, I can't believe that it's almost Christmas either. With the move and all, we've just been so busy. Hopefully after I finished my grades today at school, I can relax and enjoy some true holiday moments! (And hug those fur babies a little extra close).

No matter what, the holidays are ALWAYS over way too quickly, don't you think, dearest Dawn?! The veterinary clinic where I work is having its annual Christmas dinner tonight…and since Badger seems to be feeling better (I'm sooo relieved!) I know that I'll be able to "cut loose" a little and really enjoy the festivities. Now I'm just hoping you managed to get your school work finished so that you can enjoy some holiday fun as well!! XOXO

This cardigan is amazing, I'm in love! That texture is great, I've been looking for a similar piece for a while, but I haven't found a good one until now 🙂
