To “box”…or not!

So there we go…another Christmas is over and done.

Unless you happen to follow German tradition like I do; in which case, “Boxing Day” is actually considered to be a second Christmas Day.  Isn’t that a wonderful custom?!  I’m totally into the idea of extending the fun and festivities for a whole other twenty-four hours!!

Of course, here in Canada – and probably most of the world – it’s back to business for the majority of those retail shops that were closed yesterday.  And while I’m not sure if I’m going to be braving our local mall today (Boxing Day mayhem might be a bit much even for this confirmed shopper!) I am looking forward to indulging in my favourite chai latte from Starbucks once again!!

And what about you, dear readers??  Do you continue your Christmas celebrations on Boxing Day as well…or are you more interested in taking advantage of all those special post-holiday sales??  Please leave me a note; I’d love to know!!

What a great jacket! Hey, are you trying to tell me your Starbucks was closed on Xmas day? Ours are open every single day of the year! Silicon Valley needs its caffeine to function i guess! πŸ˜‰ Teachers have two whole weeks off, so I'll be vacation mode for awhile. Yay! We might brave some stores today, but maybe will wait til things calm down (a bit) next week. Not sure. Still in my jammies right now! πŸ˜‰

Yep, most of the Starbucks were closed…and the only one that WAS doing business in our neighbour closed just ten minutes before I got there!! Grrr!! Well, you can bet I'm going to make up for the lost opportunity today!! Enjoy the rest of your holiday time off, dearest Dawn…the shopping can wait (or not!!) XOXO

What a lovely look Monika! I love your floral tunic and how you styled it with this cute leather jacket. When Heiligabend is over for us Xmas day and boxing day are days for chilling, reading books, looking TV, nibbling cookies and having a fine time with our beloved ones.
Have a fine time too dear!

My husband and I are invited to my boss's place for dinner tonight, dearest Sabine…his wife is a wonderful cook, so we are really looking forward to it!! Glad to hear that you will still be enjoying some "rest and relaxation" with friends and family for this second Christmas Day; that's truly what the holidays should be about!! XOXO

Happy that your little baby is doing better, it must be a relief to you, poor thing!
I usually don't do Dec 26, too, too much for me and I'm not a fan of malls
But we went to a local mall to get some things for a dinner party we are giving tonight and it was not complete madness as i expected it –
I love all your outfits, the dress you purchased at Winners for a song is very pretty.
It's a challenge for me to to take pics, it has to be indoors most of the time this time of year but when i'm brave enough i go outside –

So far I've been stubborn, dear Ariane…I've refused to take my outfit pics inside, even when the weather has been absolutely miserable!! But I've also learned to "never say never;" it's very possible that an indoor photoshoot might happen one of these days!! P.S. Boxing Day was a zoo here…but I ventured to the mall today, too; and it really wasn't all that bad!! πŸ™‚

You're a layering genius…love the sweater with the jacket! My daughter has gift cards that are screaming to be spent, but I'm thinking we'll wait until next week. I'm off work until after the New Year so I've got the luxury of time. πŸ™‚

My husband is on vacation until the first week after the New Year, too, dearest Debbie…you lucky ducks, you!! πŸ˜‰ I had to squeeze all my post-holiday sale shopping into these past few days since it's back to work for me tomorrow…have fun when you venture out with your daughter!! XO

What a great outfit for a relaxed day! Love the colors you combine here, and as always interesting shapes and textures – you are brilliant at mixing them, Monika. We are taking it easy – very enjoyable family time cooking, eating, strolling about, chatting… Shopping? Only online… and Goodwill… a little. πŸ™‚ Enjoy your holidays! Happy New Year to you and your family! xxx

So glad you like this layered look, dearest Natalia; the faux-leather vest under my cropped cardigan was a last-minute addition…and I have to admit, I was really pleased with the result as well!! Nice to hear that you've been able to enjoy plenty of togetherness with your family; this is definitely the time of year when I miss mine the most!! Thank you – as always! – for your note…I'm sending best wishes for the New Year to you, too!! XOXO

I think that the entire WEEK between Christmas and the New Year deserves to be celebrated, dearest Elsie!! Too bad that I have to go back to work tomorrow!! πŸ˜‰

Love your outfit! That coat looks so lovely πŸ™‚

Boxing day for us is more of a relaxing time. Christmas Eve/Day is very exciting with lots of things to do so the day after we need that time to calm down a bit. But Christmas is always so lovely wish it didn't end so soon πŸ™‚

Hope you had a lovely Christmas and we hope Badger is doing well πŸ™‚

Because I grew up with the tradition of opening gifts on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day were reserved for truly enjoying and appreciating those gifts (books were always a fave!!) But I agree, dear Kelsey and Kenecha…even with THREE days of celebration, the holiday is always over much too quickly!! P.S. Badger absolutely hates his new medication; I can tell he's getting stronger because he fights me so much when I give it to him!! πŸ˜‰

Of course!! I totally forgot…the sales get even better after the New Year, don't they, dear Tania?! Now I don't feel so bad that I have to go back to work tomorrow; I'll still plenty of shopping opportunities coming up!! πŸ˜‰

I love this look. Everything goes so well together and I adore the colour of the jacket.

A caramel-coloured vest layered under a chocolate brown cardigan?? What's not to love…right, dear Imogen?! πŸ˜‰ Thank you so much for visiting!!
