Back on track

Except for a rather nasty cough that seems determined to hang on, I am (thankfully!) feeling pretty much back to normal this week…and more than ready to make the rounds of my favourite mall once again!!

Does shopping count as a hobby??  I imagine that for most personal style bloggers, it probably does; whether it’s the satisfaction of getting our hands on a much-coveted piece after hours of searching, or the thrill of making an unexpected find…shopping is exactly what any hobby should be:  fun!!

And of course it ties in perfectly with outfit blogging, right?!  Getting to style our awesome acquisitions – and then sharing the results with others who are just as enthusiastic about the whole process – that’s definitely fun!!

No luck during this particular shopping expedition, dear readers…but there’s always next time!!

You summed up the whole blogging thing perfectly! I do think enjoying our personal style is a hobby. I've told myself this many times. On my days off from work I think to myself that I should find something to do that I enjoy, and shopping and hunting for that perfect thing is right at the top of my list, shamelessly too!
Love your Stella and Dot wrap necklace. I have the same one!

Heck, I'm going to take it a step further and call shopping a sport, dear Joni!! You're out and moving around…there's "contact" involved (especially with a good sale going on!)…and you have the potential to experience the thrill of victory OR the agony of defeat!! Sounds like a sport to me!! 😉 P.S. Stella & Dot has some gorgeous pieces, don't they?! I'm a new fan, but already kind of addicted!!

Great outfit, Monika! Relaxed and sharp at the same time. Love how you play with shapes and textures, always very inspiring! This shade of green suits you so well, dear friend. And I sure can relate to creating outfits and creating posts as one of my most favorite hobbies, Shopping, not so much. I don't enjoy malls, and do most of my shopping online if only it's not vintage or secondhand. Hunting for treasures, as an element of shopping, yes, absolutely is fun!! xxxx

I remember a marathon shopping trip with my mom a number of years ago, dearest Natalia…we spent seven hours cruising the mall!! SEVEN!! But I can understand that the noise and crowds might not be everyone's cup of tea; in which case, online shopping is the ideal substitute!! And I would be in heaven if we had a good vintage store in our neighbourhood…talk about the ultimate treasure hunt!! ;D

Will of course shopping is a hobby haha 😛
Can I just say how beautiful you are? I would like to have shorter hair like you but I feel like I wouldn't be able to pull it off. I just love how happy you look in your photos as well.
So glad to hear you are feeling better, when I was sick I had that nasty cough for awhile, I find that is the worst part.
This outfit is just lovely. That green cardi suits you so well and I am loving how you have a skirt paired with it.

I've had just about every hairstyle (and colour!) imaginable, dear Kelsey and Kenecha…I say go ahead and cut yours!! It will always grow back!! And I think I'm usually(!) quite a cheerful person; although being sick can definitely put a damper on even the best of moods, can't it?? I felt and looked rather rough after my sleepless night last week…thank goodness for makeup and Starbucks!! ;D

I love the long vest, the whole look actually!
How come no snow in Vancouver;)

We have some snow on the mountains, dearest Ariane…and that's where it can stay, as far as I'm concerned!! Being able to wear shorts in January is MUCH more my speed than dealing with a bunch of cold white stuff on the ground!! 😉

Thanks for your visit, dear Craliven!! I don't do "follow for follow"…but I would be very happy to stop by your blog to say "Hi!!"

I love how the patterns of the shirt and the cardigan are kind of matching! This chartreuse green is one of my favorite colors and even though it's not easy to wear, you did it brilliantly!

So you noticed the similarity in the patterns of my cardi and blouse, too, dearest Anett…I KNEW you were a girl after my own heart!! I originally thought about wearing my black moto jacket to complete this outfit, but I'm so glad I went with the chartreuse knit instead!! XOXO

My lariat necklace is from Stella & Dot, dearest Dawn…I had a jewellery "party" just before Christmas, and this was one of the goodies that I received with my hostess credits!! I've been SO anxious to show it off, but I'm glad I waited…this look ended up being the perfect debut, don't you think?!

  7. January 15, 2015 / 8:16 pm

YES, shopping definitley counts as a hobby!! 😉 And this outfit and photos are just extra radiant. Glad to see you're feeling better and back to your usual self, well minus the cough, mine seems to be hanging on as well. Wishing you a lovely, Thursday!! xo

That darn cough just doesn't seem to want to go away, dearest Veronika!! But since I'm well enough to indulge in my favourite hobby again, I'm not going to complain too much; after all, retail therapy is the ultimate cure for many ills…am I right?! ;D

Glad you are feeling more like yourself now and not sick! I think this year there was so much going around! I do feel shopping is a hobby and I enjoy it very much! I love the thrill of a good deal on something fabulous! You looked amazing for your shopping trip! That long green cardigan is fantastic and I adore those slouchy boots! Hopefully you will find something fantastic at the mall next time!

Oh, I'm ALWAYS on the hunt for my next fabulous purchase, dearest Rebecca!! 🙂 And I thought that my lime green cardigan would make a less expected finishing touch for my shorts-and-blouse combination than – say – a black leather moto jacket…glad to hear that you like it!! XOXO

A snake shirt! I love it! I have some slouch pants in a similar fabric, but oooh, I'd love a shirt. Actually, I'm going on a beach holiday soon for Chinese New Year, and I really want to find a snake bikini. Hmmm, we'll see.

I love shopping! It's my hobby, yes, but for me it's also a serious stress reliever. If I've got deadline looming or a major project in the works, heading out for a little shop always sets me free. I don't even have to come home with anything.

What I find interesting–and I like it, about this outfit is the cardigan you paired with it. I never would have gone that route, but it totally works!

Monika, have I told you how glad I found you!

    Love,

I am equally happy to meet you, dear Ann…thank you so much for the love!! 🙂 That blouse of mine has a unique "handkerchief" hemline that's not visible here because it's tucked in; plus, it's a snake-print!! Win-win, am I right?! And I really liked the way the marled texture of my green cardigan played off the pattern of the shirt!! P.S. A snake bikini sounds dangerously awesome for your upcoming holiday!! XOXO
