Style 3-Play: Moto Jacket Look Three

I’ve said it before, but I’m going to say it again…I am not a winter person!!

One of the reasons that I moved from Toronto to Vancouver was to get away from all the cold and snow that’s typical back east pretty much from November to March.  So it’s kind of funny how my adopted city actually has visitors from all over the world that come here specifically for winter sports like skiing and snowboarding!!  Luckily for me, though, what happens in the mountains…almost always stays in the mountains!!

Of course my distaste for the white stuff doesn’t mean that I’m not enjoying the snuggly sweaters and layers that are – sartorially speaking – such a big part of this season!!  So how convenient was it that I happened to be wearing my moto jacket when I tried on this awesome turtleneck maxi-dress at H&M recently?!  I bet you won’t blame me for instantly falling in love with the edgy new combination!!

Some unexpected wind today did make my decision to do bare legs a bit, um, drafty for my lower extremities; but the wool and leather up top managed to keep me reasonably comfortable anyway. Just…maybe don’t try this in Toronto (or the mountains!) right now!!

You look both elegant and edgy! And I see you're wearing that gorgeous Kimberly necklace I think its called. Have I told you how gorgeous your clothes are? Well, they are! I want just about everything I've ever seen on here.
I use to be a medical assistant so I know the boredom of wearing scrubs every day. Ugh! Now I work in a super casual place, though some do dress up. I fall somewhere in between and the office is unfortunately too hot for sweaters and scarves.
    Have a good weekend!

Aww…thanks for the nice comment about loving my wardrobe, dearest Joni!! If you didn't live all the way down there in Seattle, I'd let you raid my closet every once in a while (although I have a feeling that you're probably a bit taller than I am!!) I remember you mentioning that you used to be a medical assistant, too…nothing like the 9 to 5 boredom of scrubs to inspire some great "day off" style, am I right?! XOXO

We just loved the last two looks but I don't know this may be our fave! That dress looks so stunning on you! We can't believe it seems to be a little warmer where you are and you can rock this dress without freezing to death haha 🙂

    Have a lovely weekend!

I'll be honest, dearest Kelsey and Kenecha…I probably should have worn some tights under this new sweater dress of mine!! The wind that tossed my hem around so fetchingly was actually pretty chilly; but I always find that if either my arms OR my legs are well covered, I'm not too uncomfortable. As long as we're not talking Polar Vortex, of course!! ;D

This outfit is perfection. Seriously Mon, just super fabulous!! And I'm with ya, so not a winter person. I hate the cold, I'm always cold… but gosh, thankful we live in a pretty mild climate!! I can't imagine being in a city like Montreal, or Toronto. Eeeeps, not sure I'd make it!! 😉

I'm not heading to Toronto for my mom's birthday this February, dearest V (we're all meeting up in April at my sister's place in New Brunswick instead!) and I have to tell you…I couldn't be happier about avoiding that nasty east coast winter!! XOXO

Thank you so much, dearest Dawn!! I have to admit that I felt pretty awesome in this texture-ific ensemble!! 😉

Gorgeous!! Love this dress, love the loose fit very much (I bought a similar fit maxi dress just recently, only it's not a sweater dress), and with this necklace and leather jacket it's a winner! We are so blessed with our mild climate here! I also moved from very moody winters to much kinder ones. xxx

I honestly felt like I was wrapped in a big cozy blanket while wearing this sweater dress, dearest Natalia…it's the perfect example of finding comfort and style in a single fab piece!! P.S. Two thumbs up for winters on the west coast!! 😉

I found those boots at Macy's on a shopping trip to Seattle a few years ago, dear Ann…they add the perfect touch of "edge" to every look I pair them with!! XOXO
