Tomorrow is “D-Day” for our trip to New Brunswick…and yippee!! My wardrobe-on-the-go is finally figured out!!
I’ve noticed a lot of chat in the blogosphere lately about “capsule wardrobes,” which involve curating a set number of pieces – usually including footwear but excluding special occasion items – for each season; once you’ve reached your quota, the shopping fun is over…until the next season rolls around.
Packing for a holiday is a little like that, isn’t it?? You put together a selection of things from your closet that you can mix and match for the maximum number of outfit possibilities; knowing that once you’ve decided, you’re going to be stuck with your choices…even if you suddenly change your mind!!
If I’m sounding a little negative about the “capsule” concept, I want to reassure you that I actually do think it’s a terrific idea…for someone else!! I love shopping way too much to set these kinds of restrictions for myself on an regular basis; that being said, I’m admittedly full of anticipation about sharing my trip-wardrobe planning success (or lack thereof!) with you in upcoming outfit posts!! Be sure to stay tuned!!
Wonderful look! I adore the scenery as well. That skirt is so nice and I feel it would go with so many items 😀
Hope you have a fun trip x

I'm sitting in a hotel lobby in Toronto right now waiting to start the second part of our journey to New Brunswick, dearest Kelsey and Kenecha…and let me tell you, it's looking pretty grey out there!! We've been really spoiled in Vancouver this year with our super-early spring; I'm going to miss the green while we're away!! XOXO
I could never keep to a capsule wardrobe either! And I hate packing .. but love to get away, so it's a necessary evil. I just want to take my whole closet with me, you know? I know you know! Anyway, super cute look, Monika! Wish I could still rock a mini like that! You go, Gorgeous!
OXOX

Do I EVER know about that, dearest Dawn!! ;D Of course, with this stop-over in Toronto, I am now panicking that I didn't pack enough warm pieces for New Brunswick…apparently, there are snow flurries in the forecast for today!! EEEK!! XOXO
Haha, yup, crazy capsule wardrobe girl, right here!! 😉 Oh my goodness, but seriously, I never thought in a million years I'd do a capsule wardrobe… but the lessons have been so fantastic!! I'm an emotional shopper and usually end up with so many mis-matched pieces and just a closet of chaos. Not to mention wasted dollars, sheesh, right?! Excited to see your "travel capsule" lovey, I'm certain you will rock it. Looking gorgeous as always!! xo
I am SO impressed that you've taken the capsule wardrobe challenge, dearest Veronika; it truly does make a lot of sense…both for wardrobe "real estate" and for the pocket-book!! You never know, though…I could become a convert, too, somewhere down the road!! Stranger things have happened!! ;D
