Farm fresh: olive shortalls, striped henley tee, and a wide belt

I was actually contemplating the “retirement” of my little romper/overalls hybrid (they were a spur-of-the-moment purchase from American Eagle last year)…but after coming up with this sweet ensemble, I think I may have changed my mind!!

Shortalls like these will always be cute as a cover-up for the beach; but somehow, I was having trouble figuring out a street-appropriate look…and I really don’t have the closet space to keep a piece that only works one way!!  But then I realized that I’d been focussing on my short-sleeved t-shirts, and today the combination just wasn’t appealing to me.

As soon as I reached for this striped long-sleeved tee, though, I had a wardrobe “eureka!!”  There’s a sort of farmer-chic feel to the henley top and overalls that contrasts so wonderfully with the edgier belt and those peep-toe booties; together, it’s the kind of “interesting” I was hoping for!!

Now it’s your turn, dear readers; I’m anxious to hear if you like this outfit as much as I do…or if you think it was more of a “miss” than a “hit!!”
