Rocking my world: denim bermuda shorts, platform mary-janes, and cat-eye sunglasses

I may be treading on some toes here….but might you agree that personal style bloggers sometimes have a bit of a “formulaic” look??

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing…I love slouchy boyfriend jean outfits and midi-skirt-with-a-crop-top ensembles just as much as the next fashion fanatic!!  And – of course! – there are seemingly endless, envy-inducing and inspiring variations of these “standard” combinations; certainly enough to keep me ogling Pinterest and flipping through the pages of my favourite StyleWatch and LouLou magazines (oh, I’m so looking forward to getting settled in our new place and having the time to do that again!!)

Every once in a while, though, there’s nothing more satisfying than putting together an outfit that’s got little to do with current trends…but is all about the mood of the moment instead!!  I knew I wanted to build a look around these denim bermuda shorts; I also knew that an “expected” combo just wasn’t going to cut it today.

You know by now how much I love adding rockerish details to my outfits…so how completely adorable is this rockabilly twist I gave said shorts – via a pair of platform mary-janes, scull-print scarf, and cat-eye sunnies??  Or maybe you prefer a more conventional approach to dressing, dear readers; I’m anxious to hear what you think!!
