Style 3-Play: Maroon Turtleneck Look Two

I’m sure I’m not the only fashion fan who’s picked up on an ongoing debate over whether certain personal style bloggers actually wear the ensembles that they showcase…after all, some of those looks are pretty darn extravagant!!

If you’re a regular visitor here (and of course I hope you are!) you’ve likely noticed that bits and pieces of an outfit of mine will often reappear as part of another combo within a week or two, even when I’m not featuring a Style 3-Play…because that’s honestly how I do it “in real life!!”

For example – when I decide on a particular pair of jeans from my wardrobe, I don’t (I can’t!) wear them once and then put them back with all my clean things; instead, they go “on repeat” until they’re ready for the wash.  So there you have it…evidence to prove that these looks truly are what I wear to run out for an afternoon of shopping…or for Starbucks!!

But does this really matter, dear readers??  Is it important to you that the ensembles you see when you browse the blogosphere are “legit??”  Or can a fabulous outfit be enjoyed simply for being a fabulous outfit…even if it’s technically not authentic street style??  I’m awaiting your thoughts!!  🙂

(I’m also hoping that you’re awaiting my maroon turtleneck Look Three – coming this Friday! – and that you’ve taken a moment to check out Look One, as well!)

I am loving turtlenecks these days, and yours is lovely in that shade of maroon.

For what it's worth, I am okay with "faux" ensembles that are not really worn, but ultimately prefer to see things like this outfit of yours that really could be done in real life.

I think most of us are probably okay with both the "real deal" AND a bit of fantasy in the world of personal style blogging, dearest Linda…as long as we're (made) aware that it's one or the other. After all, I enjoy flipping through the pages of a fashion magazine for outfit inspiration…even though I know that the models didn't walk in off the street wearing the looks they have on for those editorial spreads. On the other hand, the term "personal style" does leave me with an expectation of seeing outfits that are actually worn in real life!! XOXO

Happy 2016, my dear! So sorry I'm so behind on my blog reading. The hubby took the week off and has been keeping me busy. It is an interesting debate about the blog looks. I wear most of mine, but every once in awhile it's a just for the blog look. Or like my holiday outfit, the plans fell through, but at least I got to dress up for the blog! Anyway, adore you Monika, and thanks so much for being part of my 2015! Here's to a fab new year for both of us!

I love the sweater with that skirt!

Super belated comment, but I tend to read only blogs where I believe that outfits are being worn for real. I want to see what works for people in daily life, that's the point of a personal style blog to me. If someone puts on certain shoes for a photo, but then changes them to go to the store, I'd rather see the outfit the way random people on the street would see it.
