In my books, nothing heralds the arrival of spring quite like the Easter long weekend…and woohoo!! It’s finally here!!
Of course there’s going to be some requisite indulgence in form of chocolate bunnies and foil-wrapped eggs…but because I’m vegetarian (and not much of a cook!) a fancy holiday dinner involving turkey or ham is something that rarely happens at our place; and then only if my hubby is in the mood to play chef!!
But for the past five years or so – enough to call it a “tradition,” I suppose! – we’ve invited the same two couples for Easter Brunch…with crepes, yogurt, real maple syrup, and a colourful fresh fruit salad. Oh – and let’s not forget the pineapple mimosas and those festive little chocolate eggs!! 😉
This year, however, one of the couples is taking full advantage of the extra day off with a little getaway, so brunch has been postponed until next Sunday instead. What do you think, dear readers …can I still get away with Easter-themed party favours?? Or should I switch out the candy eggs for chocolate truffles instead?!
