What’s your relationship with “change,” dear readers?? Do you love it…or hate it??
Let’s be clear here – I’m not talking about the kind of change that jingles around in your pocket or makes your wallet difficult to close!! It’s the other “change” that has been on my mind recently; both what we can control…and what comes our way even though it might be the last thing that we want to deal with.
While some individuals seem to have an enviable ability to roll with the punches when it comes to any and all change, I imagine that the majority would much rather be active decision-makers in at least the big stuff that affects us…like where we live and work. I think it’s smaller things over which the camp generally gets divided; I’m so excited to get a brand new hair look at least every year or two, for example…but I know a lot of women who haven’t changed the way they do their ‘do in decades!!
If “change is good,” as the expression goes, why is it such a challenge for many people to embrace?? Is it a fear of the unknown?? Being genuinely content with the status quo?? Or is it a sad sort of inertia that takes us over and makes us not want to face something new and different?? If any of you know the secret to making “change” a little less daunting, I sure hope you’ll take a moment to share!!
