Search and rescue: distressed denim skirt, chambray shirt, studded ankle-strap sandals, and paisley headscarf

My hubby and I have been considering the addition of another fur-baby to our family, dear readers …we’re so excited!!

I’ve been a “ferret mom” for most of my life – I saw my very first ferret riding on his owner’s shoulder when I was a young teen, and was immediately determined to learn all I could about them.  And although Robin had no idea what a ferret even was when we first met, he’s since become one of their biggest fans!!

Like any pet, though, they’re not a good match for everyone; and it breaks our hearts how often they are abandoned or given up for adoption because people don’t do their research beforehand.  So Robin and I decided a number of years ago that we’d no longer support the unscrupulous breeders that supply baby ferrets to pet stores, and would focus on providing a forever home to unwanted ferrets instead.

Now we are keeping our fingers tightly crossed that one of the little “girls” at the ferret rescue we’re visiting will be a good match for our two mischievous boys.  Of course I will keep you posted!!  🙂

Great outfit! I would love to see a picture of your New fur baby! I agree with you that a lot of People ,,take,, an animal ( not pursee a ferret) and get wrid of them just as easy! I hate that! Have a great weekend! I will take a look at Dawn s site. My Fancy Friday linkup is still on!

A new fur baby?! How exciting! I love that you only rescue. Us too … our dogs and cat are all rescues. I wouldn't have it any other way. I think of expanding our family too, but our husky is just too crazy and energetic. She's like having 4 dogs all by herself! 😉 Adorable denim or denim look, Monika! Thanks for always supporting Fashion Should Be Fun!

Please please stop referring to ferrets as 'girls or boys'. Girls and boys are people dear; not animals . . .

Children ie boys and girls belong solely to the human species. I have two boys; not exactly the same as two ferrets. Babies is also a rather strange way to refer to ferrets? I had two babies; not thank goodness two ferrets.

Of course you are entitled to your opinion, dear Hope…but I happen to know that many "pet parents" – which is how we refer to owners at the veterinary clinic where I work – think of their four-legged family members as their children. And on the flip side? I've also seen plenty of human children that could qualify as little animals! Thanks so much for visiting!
