Light show: How to wear a polka-dot cardigan

It may not look like it, dear readers, but this was one of the “crazier” photoshoots that my hubby and I have undertaken so far!!

The reason??  Despite appearing more or less deserted in the pics, there was a lot of traffic happening on this country road!!  Robin and I would run out onto the asphalt, snap some quick photographs, and run back to the gravel shoulder to let yet another bunch of vehicles pass.  (Mom, maybe you shouldn’t be reading this!!)

But the light was just so pretty…we simply had to take advantage!!  We’re getting to that time of year when Vancouver weather is becoming more and more unpredictable – and less cooperative! – for outdoor photos; and since I stubbornly refuse to do outfit pictures indoors, this was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up!!

And speaking of outfits??  I unexpectedly fell in love with this rather preppy, polka-dotted cardigan during one of my recent shopping jaunts; but then felt uncertain about how I’d give it my preferred edgy spin.  I think I succeeded…but now I shall leave it up to you to tell me what you think!!

I actually really like how you styled the polka dot cardigan, overall. I love black and white with olive, and the elements work well together. The one thing I am not fond of is stockings or tights under shorts; reminds me too much of the hot pants vibe from the 60s (when I was looking, as a young girl, at older young women!) I think I would rather see some other bottom piece–how about your faux leather leggings? They would still be edgy.

My vegan leather leggings would definitely play well with this "dotty" cardigan, dearest Linda!! And I know what you mean about the shorts-with-tights thing…but I kinda like including an occasional nod to the 60's in my outfits!! XOXO

Love the photos! And the jacket-cardigan combo – something fresh about it.
