Neutral zone: tank dress, mesh t-shirt, studded platform heels

So – after leaving my sartorial comfort zone in the dust on Monday and Wednesday with a couple of colourful outfit combos, I’m back to my beloved neutrals to finish off the week!!

The key to keeping a tone-on-tone ensemble like this from falling flat??  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…it’s all about including lots of pattern and texture!!  Take my athletic-inspired grey tank dress, for example; from a distance, it could pass as pinstriped, but it’s really the frock’s rib-knit fabric you’re seeing. And that’s “two for the price of one” right there!!  😉

But I also added some subtle sheerness care of a black mesh tee layered under the dress; a pair of rockstar-worthy stud-embellished platform heels; and – to finish things off – a chic little leopard-print clutch.

Way to take a “basic” combination from a-okay to amazing, don’t you think??  And what about you, dear readers??  Do you love to use pattern and texture to create depth in your outfits…or do you prefer to use colour instead??  Looking forward to your input!!
