Pattern play: pencil skirt, floral blouse, moto vest, and platform booties

I mentioned a few weeks back that I’d outfitted myself with pretty much an entire new wardrobe for this fall/winter season…and today I couldn’t resist wearing three of my recent purchases all in one ensemble!!

As per my usual styling MO, there’s not a lot of colour going on in this pencil skirt, blouse, and moto vest combo – it’s variations of maroon and mossy green – but I do have some major pattern and texture happening!!  The floral top and geometric skirt were actually spoils from two separate shopping excursions…but I knew right away that these pieces would work like a charm together!!

While I’m sort of obsessed with black and white, I’d have to say that shades of olive are next on my “favourite colours” list…so this edgy faux-leather vest totally lured me in when I spotted it at Forever 21!!  And the finishing touch??  It just had to be my cuddly, sheepskin clutch!!

Good thing that I seized the opportunity to wear this outfit when I did, ’cause Vancouver is on a storm watch from now until Monday!!  No snow (of course!) but the weather people are predicting a whole lot of rain and wind for the next four days.  Fingers crossed that our power and WiFi don’t go down…or it’s gonna be a very quiet weekend around here!!  😉

You are on a roll! I really love this ensemble. Obviously–you've used my favorite color combo again, olive and cranberry/marroon. Plus, like you, I am such a devotee of texture. Well done!

That skirt has got my name on it! Send it over to me! Haha, you are really such an inspiration to me. Never would have thought of styling a skirt like that in this way. Absolutely fabulous!

Your outfit looks great. All that maroon pattern, yum. I also like the pencil skirt silhouette, makes everything so stylish.
