Christmas Fancy: styling a pleather trench coat with a denim vest, patterned shirt, and flare jeans

I know there’s still no sign of snow here on the blog, dear readers…but believe me, Vancouverites struggled with a very sloppy white weekend!!

Slippery, slushy roads meant that Robin and I had to give ourselves plenty of extra time to get to our ferret veterinarian on Saturday morning.  You see, we’ve been fostering a little girl fur-baby for the past couple of weeks…and since she’s not officially ours yet, we weren’t taking any chances that we might miss her appointment!!

Yep – it looks like we’re going to have a new addition to the family for the holidays!!  We hadn’t been planning on four ferrets (honestly, our three “boys” are handful enough) but what else could we possibly do??  A neglected ferret abandoned at the local animal shelter just before Christmas sure wasn’t going to stay homeless on our watch!!

The vet was suitably impressed – tiny “Fancy” has gained almost six ounces since she’s been staying with us – so I expect there won’t be any trouble finalizing the adoption papers.  Make sure to stay tuned via Instagram…there’s bound to be a photo of her popping up there in the next few days!!  😊

You are just so sweet, taking in another ferret in need of a home. (I could never do anything similar–my husband is not a pet person and only kind of tolerates our two cats, who I could not live without!)

Great outfit, as usual. Stay warm!

It breaks my heart that someone would give up their pet just before Christmas, dearest Linda. 🙁 Little "Fancy" has some serious health concerns that will require treatment for the rest of her life; her previous family obviously didn't want to take on that responsibility. But at least she ended up in a shelter and not the street (or even worse)…and now she has a loving home and is getting the medical care that she needs. XOXO
