Robin and I brought home a Christmas tree yesterday, dear readers!! Woohoo!! 😊
After debating whether we even wanted a tree this year – it always creates a bit of a headache because the ferrets can never seem to leave it alone! – we opted to go in a completely different direction from last year; for the first holiday season we spent in our then brand-new condo, we invested in a live 12-foot-tall Charlie Brown tree that ended up being infested with pine aphids…so gross!!
Needless to say, our optimistic plans to keep that tree out on our balcony for the next Christmas were reduced to a few garbage bags full of tinder in the dumpster instead!! This year, we (eventually!) decided on a much smaller cut tree – a three foot “classic” Noble fir. Of course, that meant we needed a stand, too…and then a basket to hide the stand. Sounds straight-forward enough, right??
Well, you would have thought we were searching for a unicorn or the lost Ark; half a dozen stops later, and we still hadn’t found anything even remotely suitable!! Baskets in every shape and size are pretty much ubiquitous at every Winners location I’ve visited, like, ever…except now that we really needed one!!
Be sure to keep an eye on my Instagram account to see how we finally made out; I promise to post a photo (or three!) very soon!!
