Shoe-in: Styling a tunic sweater with a tweed cape, skinny jeans, ivory booties, and a fedora

The snow in Vancouver is finally almost all gone now…and more than anything else (sartorially speaking, at least!) I’m thrilled to once again have a few more options available where footwear choices are concerned!!

These ivory booties are certainly not the thing for slushy, salty street conditions; but they couldn’t be more perfect for adding an of-the-moment touch to my skinny jeans and tunic sweater combo.

And I’ve been seriously jonesing for a bit of boho detail in my looks lately – always a trickier proposition in wintery weather versus the summer – but I think I managed the vibe very nicely with my woollen cape, layered necklaces, and wide-brimmed fedora.  And since handbag straps don’t work so well with capes, nothing but my fluffy “sherpa” pouch would do!!

Now if only that thermometer would do me a favour and creep up into the double digits (I’m speaking celsius here!) every once in a while…I’d be “open-toed” in a heartbeat!!  What about you, dear readers??  Are there any pieces that you’re particularly looking forward to wearing once springtime rolls around??  I hope you’ll take a moment to share!!

I am glad your weather is moderating! Ours down here is too–this week the highs will be in the low to mid 70s F, with the morning's still chilly. Our winter is so darn brief (and the summer is so long.) For spring and on into summer, I am jonesing for a pair of perforated peep toe "shooties". I tried on one pair a few days ago, but they were not as nice as a more expensive pair I have my eye on, on-line. . .

New footwear sounds like the perfect way to usher in a new season, dearest Linda!! 😉 And while I know you get tired of your long hot summers, I feel that ours is never around long enough; but as the saying goes, the grass is always greener…!! P.S. I'll keep my fingers crossed that those shooties you REALLY want come on sale asap!! XOXO

You are brave to wear ivory shoes in winter. I would ruin these in a single workday – no matter how hard I tried to keep them clean. I'm just naturally mess-prone!

My favorite warm weather clothing is a colorful sleeveless dress. Dresses with no need for tights are one of the many reasons I can't wait for winter to pass.
