Do-over: styling a slouchy tee with a striped grandpa cardigan and distressed skinny jeans

When I started this blog 3 1/2 years ago, I knew right away that I wouldn’t be sharing any recipes or hair and makeup tips here…I’d only be doing personal style!!

Since then, I’ve learned that being “niche” is actually great for blogging – the more focused, the better! – but the biggest reason you won’t find me offering up anything besides outfit inspiration??  Well, I can’t really cook (Robin fends for himself since I pretty much live on salads); I do my makeup exactly the same way day in and day out (although I might tweak my lipstick colour a bit); and I’m absolutely, positively useless when it comes to styling my hair!!

So you can probably imagine how proud I was when, after a bit of guidance from Pinterest, I managed to pull off this adorable new ‘do today!!  No “ironing” required – just three little twists at the back of my head, six bobby pins…and I was good to go!!  (Oops!!  Did I just break my “no hair tips” rule??) 😉

But now – since we happen to be on the subject of Pinterest – I have a question for you, dear readers!!  Have you joined my Fearless Fashion File community board yet??  It’s as simple as sending me an email to request an invite; after all, a lot of the fun of personal style comes from sharing…don’t you agree?!

I am just catching up on reading blogs for the first time all week, I think, and so happy to see this post! I adore this outfit, and adore what you did with your hair. I do cook, but if I had a blog, I think it would be all about style, same as you. I even do my make up pretty much the same every day, like you, and never do more than fluff my curls as they dry. Maybe I need to find that pinterest tip on how to do your cool 'do! Especially as my hair is growing out, and it is suddenly getting hot down here in the desert, already. It has been about a dozen years since I had hair to get off my neck in the heat; most of those years I had my hair super short. I better figure something out!

It's always so lovely to hear from you, dearest Linda…although I will admit to feeling envious that you're "enjoying" hot weather where you live!! ;D As you know, summer is my favourite season, and I can hardly wait for Vancouver's temperatures to catch up with the sunshine you can see in these pics…believe it or not, we've had yet MORE snow in the meantime!! P.S. This hairstyle is as easy as pie; simply twist your hair into three little buns at the nape of your neck and bobby-pin in place!! XOXO

I hope summer comes quickly for you, and truly is perfect–warm and pleasant and not too hot!
