Best before: distressed cropped flares, slouchy v-neck tee, bandana, and open-toe boots

My regular readers know how much I love me some “mall time”…but between the unexpected expense of my laptop repair and our commitment to hittin’ the road every weekend in our convertible (woohoo!) there actually hasn’t been a whole lot of recreational shopping going on around here lately!!

But then I spotted these cute cropped jeans at American Eagle…and I simply could not resist.  Denim is a weakness of mine as it is – it seems I have yet to find my one “ultimate” pair! – and with their slightly flared hem and the distressed finish, these have all the details that are particularly irresistible to me right now!!

Needless to say, my new jeans have been on heavy rotation since I brought them home (I’m surprised that my hubby hasn’t called me out on that yet!) because they are just so perfect with everything I put them with – from this day’s pick of a slouchy white tee and open-toe wedge booties…to all the other combinations I’ve worn since (of which at least a few are sure to appear on the blog very soon!!)

At some point, though, I guess I’m gonna have to wash them.  Anybody happen to know if there’s an official denim “best before” date??  😜

I love this sort of ensemble too! However, I have to admit that as of late, I have gotten away from wearing distressed denim myself, even though I love the look of it on you and others. It may have something to do with the approach of my 60th birthday in less than two months–somehow distressing feels too young. Wah. I love it's textural quality. Oh well. I can enjoy it on you!

Do you follow Ari Seth Cohen's blog Advanced Style, dear Linda?? He photographs the most amazing, inspirational "mature" street style EVER!! The ladies (and gentlemen!) he features rock all kinds of pieces that were once considered only appropriate for teens and twenty-somethings. So if you like distressed denim, there is no reason in the world that you shouldn't wear it!! XOXO

Can you believe I do not own a single SWT, slouchy or otherwise, Monika? It's something I hope to rectify and soon. Until then, may I drool over yours? Figuratively speaking, of course GRIN
