Wack Job: styling a graphic tank with a plaid shirt, skinny jeans, ankle boots, and a fedora

Are you by any chance familiar with the Canadian band called Chilliwack, dear readers??

While you may recognize a number of their hits from the seventies like “California Girl,” “Crazy Talk,” and “Lonesome Mary” that still pop up on the radio every now and then, you might not know that there are actually a river and a city about an hour and a half outside of Vancouver that share the same name.

Well, that would be the Chilliwack River you can see in these photos!!  If Robin and I had opted to stay a little closer to home this past Saturday, we could have seen Chilliwack the band (yes, they’re still around!) as part of our local Canada Day celebrations; but we decided to forego the crowds and go for a cruise in the Solstice instead.

It looks rather remote, doesn’t it??  But the City of Chilliwack – affectionately known as “the Wack” – is actually just a short drive away from this very spot…so after our communion with nature, we were able to enjoy the luxury of a pitstop at Starbucks before heading home just in time to catch some fireworks!!

You look totally adorable and ready for a fun weekend, Monika! You always nail the cool chick look to a T! We're having a more mellow weekend than planned. I tripped over our dog, gashed my head open, and now have stitches! WAH! So you party it up for the both of us, Kiddo! Muah!

Oh no!! I hope the doctor didn't have to shave off some of your hair for the sutures, dearest Dawn, or there will be lots of hat wearing in your foreseeable future. (Not that I don't love me some hats…but when you HAVE to wear something, a bit of the appeal is often lost, isn't it?) At least it wasn't a broken foot, though…we've had enough of those around here!! ;D
