Dancing queen – what to wear to a summer wedding

We attended my absolute favourite type of celebration this past weekend, dear readers…a wedding!!

Honestly – what’s not to love about a wedding??  It’s the equivalent of a “red carpet event” for us mere mortals who’d otherwise never have an opportunity to attend one; a no-holds-barred party with pretty venues and dancing and a chance to dress up and dancing and (hopefully) good food and dancing and…did I mention dancing?!

You’ve probably figured out by now that I’m big fan of dancing (tee hee!!)  But I also get seriously excited about an opportunity to pull out all the stops in the wardrobe department.  Not that I necessarily need a special occasion to wear a fancy frock and heels – I’ve been known to don exactly that for a trip to the grocery store! – but a bonafide reason to dress up makes me one happy girl indeed!!

As this particular wedding was expecting guests from all over the world, I thought I put Vancouver in the very best sartorial light by splurging a little on a brand new outfit…with the exception of my go-to ivory Vince Camuto booties, which held up like champs through several non-stop hours of – you guessed it! – dancing!!  💃

That's a great way to give a dressy dress some sass! Although I wouldn't wear boots in summer, those are so cute and look so soft and comfortable. I love a good wedding that lets me take out the dressy dresses from the back of the closet (or better yet when it gives me the excuse to buy a new one).
