There should be pretty mountain views in all these pics, dear readers…but unfortunately, Vancouver has been smothering under a blanket of wildfire smoke for an entire week now.
It’s really weird to see the sky such an unchanging shade of grey day after day; and the sun – when it manages to break through the screen of smoke for a while – isn’t the friendly yellow that we’re accustomed to, but as red as it would normally be only at sunset.
And yet, we really have no right to complain – a huge part of British Columbia’s interior is still struggling to control the wildfires, and tens of thousands of people have been displaced from their homes. It might be hazy here in the Lower Mainland, but Robin and I were still able to enjoy a Sunday afternoon drive to Iona Beach…even if we’re “missing” the mountains.
And I finally debuted this breezy, damask-patterned kimono that I brought home from Winners way back in spring. It would have been a natural match with flare jeans for a full-on boho look…but today I went against the grain and opted for an edgy striped skinnies and sequinned t-shirt combo. We fashionistas know how to create our own view, am I right?! 😉
