Hair dare: patterned shirt, skinny jeans, moto jacket, oversized faux-fur vest

Hold on to your hats, dear readers…because I am once again rockin’ one hell of a hot pink hairdo!!  I’d still been getting a surprising number of compliments on my “old” look – right up until the day before my salon appointment, in fact! – even though I was actually rather overdue for a colour refresher.  Pastel is pretty…but I’m absolutely crazy about the visual punch of this major magenta hue!!

Obviously, my eye-popping hair look makes quite a statement on its own; so this outfit featuring my go-to neutrals works particularly well as the “supporting cast”…even though I really don’t let that colour up top dictate what I’m going to wear from the neck down.  And I decided to play the layer game today, too, by tossing this luxuriously long furry vest (yes, my affair with faux-fur is still going strong!) over my all-black moto jacket and jeans combo.

While the skinnies, perfecto, and vest have been part of my wardrobe for a while now, this folk-inspired embroidered belt is brand new…part of a “haul” I brought home from my local Lucky Brand outlet store recently.  Is it just me, or are good quality belts kind of a challenge to find lately??  I remember Winners and The Bay – and even American Eagle Outfitters – having a much more extensive (and better quality) selection in years past; now the few options I come across when I’m shopping are mostly just…meh.

Let’s get back to the hair for a moment, though.  Aside from providing quite the “wow” factor now, this day-glo shade fades so nicely from wash to wash; it’s almost like a fresh dye job every couple of weeks.  Of course I’d be more than happy if that amazing vibrancy lasted until my next visit to the salon (I’m no hair-colour wallflower!) but variety is the spice of life, after all!!  And now I’d love to hear if any of you have ever gone for a serious style switch-up…and if you enjoyed the change!!

I was thinking about how much I loved that belt and then thought you read my mind about good quality belts being hard to find. I don’t use belts as often as I think I should and I want to wear them more, but good luck finding a nice one that fits me! I have to give your blouse a shout-out too. It’s basic, but not boring.

    Keep rocking that hair!

Your hair color is AMAZING! Girl, you’re making me want hot pink hair too! You are just a style star and I adore ever look you put together. Two of my favorite belts are Lucky Brand! And a big yes yes yes to faux fur!

Speaking of fur …kisses to your fur babies!

Thanks for sharing with Fun Fashion Friday! Have the best weekend, Monika!
