Winter in Vancouver doesn’t generally involve dealing with lots of snow and bitter cold – thank goodness! – but it pretty much guarantees enduring long stretches of grey, gloomy, rainy days…and sure enough, it started spitting rain as soon as Robin and I headed out for our morning Starbucks and a quick photoshoot today. Even more annoying?? I had a hair appointment scheduled for the afternoon; which – don’t get me wrong! – I always look forward to; but it meant that my freshly coiffed hair was going to get droopy and frizzy before I even had a real opportunity to enjoy that “fresh from the salon” feeling. 😤
I have to say – my hairstylist whipped up some serious magic when she did this pink for me the last time; two months in, and aside from the regrowth, it’s still as vibrant as it was the day I had it done!! I’m a girl who loves experimenting with her cut and colour (I’ve done pixie short to waist-length; platinum blonde to deepest brunette) but I kinda have a feeling that fuchsia is going to be my signature colour for the foreseeable future. It’s hard to get bored of a really bold shade like this…and it just works so well with my go-to wardrobe colours of black, white, and earthy neutrals.
And neutrals are exactly what I went for today with my olive wool tunic sweater, olive suede booties, and oversized faux-fur vest combo. Wool is wonderfully cozy – even in damp weather – and the additional layer of furriness was all I needed to keep warm and toasty even in the intermittent drizzle. I did take an umbrella with me for my five-block walk from the Skytrain to the hair salon, though. As my regular readers know by now, I’m not one to let a little inclement weather deter me when I have my mind made up about my outfit…even if it’s not exactly the most practical!! 😉
