How Lucky We Are

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” ~ Winnie the Pooh

We’ve had another loss in our ferret family, dear readers.  Yesterday we said goodbye to our sweet Fancy…just over one year since we adopted her from our local animal shelter.

Fancy came to us as an older ferret with special needs; she was bald, emaciated, and suffering from both adrenal gland disease and insulinoma (two common conditions in North American ferrets) that had been left untreated by her previous owner.  Robin and I were well aware that we might not have her with us for very long when we brought her home…but with the proper care and lots of love, she thrived for 13 months.

Thank you, Fancy, for being such a special part of our lives.  You will be missed, little girl. ❤️

There is definitely heartbreak in their loss, dear Nancy…but it’s so worthwhile for all the joy they bring. 💗
