Warm-up: How to give camouflage trousers an urban-appropriate spin

Sadly, there were no car cruises with the top down this weekend, dear readers!!  While we didn’t end up getting any of the snow flurries our weather forecast had predicted for Friday and Saturday – thank goodness!! – it was quite a bit chillier than it had been on St. Patrick’s Day; chilly enough that Robin questioned my decision to go sans coat this afternoon.

But I’ve been jonesing to add more of a “spring” vibe to my outfits lately (riding in a convertible will do that to you!) and since our photoshoot was the only outdoor activity we had on the agenda for the day, I felt pretty confident that I could tough it out without outerwear. 😊

Besides, this layered chambray shirt and fuzzy sweater were actually quite a cozy combo!!  Together with my two-toned lace-up booties, they’re the perfect pieces to give my camouflage trousers an urban-appropriate spin, don’t you think??

After that shopping “dry spell” that just kinda happened in the new year, I’ve been hitting my go-to stores again recently (stay tuned for my latest finds!)…but I’m determined to keep working at creating fearless new ensembles with my existing wardrobe, as well.  These fab ankle boots, for example, have most decidedly not seen enough street time in recent months.  Too many cool shoes and not enough days off to wear them – definitely a #fashionistaproblem, am I right?! 😉

Weather-wise, I have my fingers crossed that Vancouver’s temperatures will warm right up again over the next few days; we have a convoy-style family road trip planned for Good Friday!!  Robin has arranged for his younger brother, his twin brother, and his nephew – in a Honda Beat and two Mustangs respectively – to join the two of us in the Solstice for our favourite circle tour to Harrison Hot Springs.  It promises to be a ton of fun…as long as cold and rain don’t wash us out!!

You have indeed put together an outfit that dresses up those camo pants. I love that fuzzy sweater and the shoes. I have to admit camo gives me mixed feelings. Visually I find it interesting but I don’t want to wear it personally because it gives me strong associations with activities I don’t want to engage in. But you make it look good!

Those shoes are too fabulous not to wear more often! Good luck with the weather this weekend. I am always watching the long-range forecast hoping to see a permanent warming trend, but every day the forecast says something different. The warmest days of this week are the rainiest to boot! Hope spring eternal (pun intended though).
