The Journey: Mickey Mouse t-shirt and slouchy trousers with a jacket, floppy hat, and silver platform booties

I have a confession to make, dear readers.  After four and a half years in this game, I truly expected to be a little further along in my blogging career than I am.  There’s been no (legitimate!) offers of brand collaborations, no all-expenses-paid invitations to Fashion Week (wouldn’t that be amazing?)…and certainly no extra income to offset my serious shopping habit!! 😨

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t just the tiniest bit disappointed.  Let’s face it, it can be deflating when a dream of yours – no matter how naively it started! – doesn’t work out the way you expected.  I’ve followed all the rules and posted like clockwork since Day One (even when I broke my foot and later developed a DVT)…so where the heck is my “buzz”??

But here’s the thing.  I absolutely adore my itty bitty corner of the blogosphere…. unassuming as it is.  I love sharing my outfit ideas with my visitors and the connections I’ve made within my community of fellow fashionistas.  I’m proud of the way I can (sort of) find my way around a computer now…and even more proud of my hubby’s ever-growing photography skills.

So basically I’m gonna keep doing what I’m doing…after all, sometimes it’s more about the journey than the destination!!  Where I think I am going to ease up a little is with my very rigid blog schedule; until now, I’ve never missed a single posting day – not for any reason.  But I’ve decided to take some time away from the blog when I’m in Toronto visiting my parents next month, for example.  And when the weather is truly crappy, or when Robin is sick – recent health scare aside, I almost never am! – well, there probably won’t be a new outfit idea to oogle that week.

Wow, I am surprised that you don’t have offers pouring in—sort of. I sometimes read a post here or there out in the blogosphere about how to monetize one’s blog—it sounds like a lot of work and not very fun. And, you might need to not be as creative as you are—which is what I love so much about you. I hope you never change your honest and unique blog persona, to fit some cookie cutter “cute” blogger, who is 200% slavishly devoted to the latest trends. The truth is you are soooo cute and you make trends your very own, mixing and matching. So creative! Yep, that’s why I am a happy subscriber.

Which does mean I will miss you when you go on holiday, but you do deserve a break. Have a lovely time!!!

That must be it, dearest Linda – I’m simply not “commercial” enough!! 😉😁 Truly – I am all good with my blog as is; I think most “superstar” influencers are never NOT on the job – between churning out blog posts and documenting every vacation/party/girls’ night out/family night in for social media – which really doesn’t sound much like a dream career, does it?! Of course if a fabulous opportunity with a brand that “gets” me DOES come along, I’d be crazy to say no…but having wonderful followers (and friends!) like you has proven to be absolutely the BEST perk of being a blogger. Thank you SO much!! XOXO

My dearest Wifey, I think your blog is awesome and I wouldn’t change a thing.

What I like most about your blog is that it is crisp, clean and white (lol and you know how much we both like white) and it concentrates on one thing and one thing only….. “Fashion”.

I know what I’m getting when I visit your blog, it’s easy to navigate, makes sense and always stays fresh, current and fun. So maybe I’m biased but I think your blog is one of the best out there in the blogosphere.

I find most blogs I visit are very frustrating to navigate with far too many different themes within them or far too many advertisements that become very distracting and have nothing to do with what brought my attention to a particular blog in the first place. I often find I lose focus and become immediately bored on those types of sites or in general get pissed off because its too confusing or feel that somehow I was cheated and ripped off. LOL

Baby, I’m so very proud of you and your blog and I think your computer skills might be better than mine now. Ha ha ha 😉

But what I admire the most about you is for standing your ground and not lambasting your blog with ugly advertising or soup recipes and for refusing to take offers that direct traffic off your sight or want your services for free and give nothing in return.

Baby, you’ve stayed true to who you are and to what your blog stands for and you can be very proud of that just as I am of you. One day some prospective client looking for the same values that I see in you will find you to be a perfect fit for them as well too.

Until then together we will continue to love each other, have fun, laugh and learn, and enjoy our cruising in the Solstice.
