Flasher: styling a crop top with a leopard-patterned coat, skinny jeans, and square-toed booties

While I am finding myself less and less inclined to include shorts and mini skirts in my sartorial lineup (they simply don’t feel “right” to me) flashing a bit of belly – care of a cute crop top – every now and then??  Don’t mind if I do!!

Every fashionista eventually figures out that confidence and comfort are by far the most essential elements when it comes to developing truly singular personal style; way more so than wearing the latest trends and “it” designer labels.  But figuring out exactly what makes us feel our most fearless and fabulous selves almost always boils down to a plain ol’ learning curve.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – experimenting is key!!

My outfit today is the result of exactly that kind of sartorial trial and error…which has confirmed time and again that rockerish looks will always have me smiling!!  Robin and I were joining his two brothers for our convoy-style Easter drive today; and who doesn’t want to look a bit “biker chic” for a road trip, am I right?!

Just for good measure, I upgraded my go-to baker boy cap and beloved leopard-patterned coat with a new pair of jeans (oh my gosh – I am obsessed with the faded wash!) and yet another pair of booties to add to my ever-expanding collection.  Brown boots and frontier influences are having a moment right now (I’m not a slave to trends, but I do keep an eye on them!) and these tick both the boxes with their caramel colour and that cool cowboy-inspired square toe!!

And yep – my cropped sweater is brand new, as well.  😁  The combination of stripes plus a v-neck is like catnip…impossible to resist; not even a midriff-baring hemline was going to scare me away.  Curious about how I’ll style my crop top again??  I guess you’ll have to stick around and see!!

Very nice boots. I can’t take my eyes off them and I don’t even like brown very much. They look comfortable too.

Good for you for going crop top. That’s one thing I can never sport. I’m something of an “apple” so even at my thinnest I carry a lot of excess flab in my belly (I haven’t worn a bikini since pre puberty). I guess there is a trade off. Like most apples I have pretty good legs, so shorts and shorter skirts are something I don’t mind sporting. We all have our insecurities. It’s a cute top regardless.

The boots ARE crazy comfortable, dear Rachel…and even though the heel is a tad lower than I usually like, I have a feeling you’ll be seeing them quite often in the weeks (and months!) to come!! 😉 As far as shorts and skirts not feeling “right” to me?? I think it’s about really honing in on my personal style preferences; I’ve come to accept that 99 percent of the time, jeans are where it’s at for me!! XOXO
