Voilà, dear readers!! Another blog post…and another denim piece that I picked up from Lucky Brand’s awesome end-of-season sale!!
I’ve mentioned over and over again that I’m really not much into the whole high-waisted trend – especially when it comes to jeans. Despite what almost everyone else seems to think, I just don’t find it very flattering (Long Bum Syndrome, anyone??) But these “Bridgette” skinnies are freakin’ amazing!! They definitely have a higher rise than any of my other jeans; but the waistband still sits a good inch below my navel (which is an absolute must for me!) and the fit looks really modern and rock’n’roll…not matronly or mom-ish at all. And even better?? They are crazy comfortable!!
My little ruched t-shirt is a recent addition to my wardrobe as well; this time from Forever 21. I’m always ridiculously choosy when it comes to tops; if something about the fabric or the neckline or the cuffs isn’t exactly “right”, then back on the rack it goes…which means you’ll see far fewer new blouses, shirts, and tees show up here than you will new jeans (or skirts and dresses, for that matter.) This cap-sleeved cutie, however, caught my eye right away; it’s got a bit of that “milkmaid” vibe going that’s been all over social media for the season, but the pattern feels pure bohemian…which is my personal must-have for this time of year.
And speaking of go-to’s?? These olive suede western-inspired ankle boots of mine are certainly all that!! In fact, I think I’ve worn boots and booties almost exclusively this summer…despite the heatwave we Vancouverites have been blessed with (or cursed with, depending on the perspective!) for the past several weeks. So yeah – I’m gonna say my booties were – at least in a figurative sense – the coolest choice for today’s milkmaid tee, skinny jeans, and straw fedora combination!! 😉
