News brief: flare jeans, striped polo shirt, and grandpa-chic cardigan

Short and sweet seems to be the going theme around here lately, dear readers; even a three-day weekend like the one we are currently enjoying is apparently not enough time for me to get the recommended 300 words tapped out on my laptop…not to mention catching up on my emails, posting on Instagram, or responding to your much-appreciated comments. 😔

And I’ll give you the heads up now that things are likely to become even briefer (and more sporadic) over the coming weeks.  Why is that, you ask??  Because – drum roll, please! – my sister and I and our two hubbies are helping my parents move from Toronto to Vancouver!!  We “kids” are super-excited we finally managed to convince Mom and Dad that living close to one daughter (they’ll only be 5 minutes away by car instead of 5 hours away by air!) is a fabulous idea; but of course big changes like this always come with some challenges, too.  The next two months are definitely going to be busy!!

But for now I’m here with my latest look-of-the-day; an autumn-is-coming ensemble of flare jeans, striped polo shirt, and grandpa-chic cardigan.  Strictly speaking, the cardigan wasn’t needed on this warm and sunny afternoon…but I’ve been kinda desperate to show off that slouchy perfection since I brought it home from Winners a while back.  And can you honestly blame me?? 😉

Totally can’t blame you for wanting to share that darling cardigan. Nor can i complain about how busy you are. Oh, do i know only too well what it means when helping the parents takes over one’s life! (A year ago I was helping close up my parents’ house, when they had moved to assisted living. Let’s just say that it wasn’t as bad as something on the TV show “Hoarders” but getting there (due to my dad’s increasing Alzheimers.) I am glad that you have convinced your parents to move closer, hopefully well before they have any health issues, so you can enjoy some wonderful years together still! Good luck with all the stuff involved. . . And know that we, your devoted readers, will be patiently/impatiently waiting for your time to open up again.
