Flannelled: A snugglier variation on the button-front-shirt-and-jeans theme

Whew!!  I’ve once again managed to bring you a blog post just by the proverbial “skin of my teeth”, dear readers!! 😬

Between the weather (summer isn’t officially over yet, but it’s rained pretty much for a whole week straight) and my hubby’s hectic new schedule (he’s gone from being unemployed to suddenly juggling two jobs!) – as well as all the stuff that needs to be arranged for my parents’ imminent move to Vancouver – it seems that sharing “what I wore” will be bumped to the back of the priority lineup for the foreseeable future.

In fact, the pics we took of today’s ensemble probably hold the record as the fastest photoshoot we’ve ever done!!  Those off-and-on showers we’d been dodging through the weekend started up again as soon as Robin set up the camera tripod (of course!) but we persevered and got ‘er done in about 10 minutes flat!!

On the outfit front??  This distressed denims combo marked the third time in as many days that I created a look around my plaid flannel shirt.  It’s really rare that I’ll wear the same piece even two days in a row…but since I’m trying hard to ignore the arrival of autumn while simultaneously craving some sartorial coziness, a snugglier variation on the button-front-shirt-and-jeans theme seemed like the only way to go.

And “snuggly” would be the perfect way to describe this chocolate-coloured faux-fur crossbody, too; it’s a brand-new addition to my bag collection…and a small concession that maybe – and only maybe! – the arrival of fall might not be such a horrible thing after all. 😉

It does sound hectic. I am in a similar situation and so my photos are usually 10-20 minutes en-route to somewhere! Kudos for getting it done – the photos look great! Love the faux fur crossbody xx

Snuggly is perfect when you’re trying to stay calm with so much going on! I totally get it (although it has stayed so stubbornly hot here, 100+, that suggly isn’t an option for me yet!) I love plaid. And the color and texture of that bag is scrumptious!

Keep taking care of yourself, dear. You really have a lot on your plate. I totally appreciate how seeing your posts brightens my crazy life at the moment but I also know that it is so important to not get so overextended that you end up sick or something. If you miss some blog posts, we’ll understand.
